Black mustard seeds are used to make medicine. It is used for the common cold, painful joints and muscles (rheumatism), and arthritis. Black mustard seed is also used for causing vomiting, relieving water retention (edema) by increasing urine production, and increasing appetite.
How to use:
Being more mild and less spicy than the yellow mustard alternative, black mustard seeds have a light, tangy flavour which pairs well with deep and rich dishes. They are commonly used in Indian, German and African cuisines but can also added to common dishes like stir-fries and hotpots.
